All Memory Bowls are commission pieces, they take 3-5 weeks for production from our first conversation.
The Memory Bowl consultation involves a virtual meeting (or face to face if located in Melbourne can be arranged), in the meeting we will discuss what size bowl you prefer and timing for production, Ali will always try to meet deadlines, but the clay process involves drying time, kiln time and production, some things can’t be rushed.
We will talk through the type of location, building, scenery, pet, livestock that resonate with the recipient. Ali will ask for photos to be provided, where available, and location of the memories (town, suburb, region).
Once any photos are received Ali will create a simple drawing to give a guide to the artwork to be applied to the bowl for your approval. Ali will also ask if there is a short message you would like written on the base of the bowl. Then the making starts!!!
Ali will provide progress shots, sometimes these are great to share with a group of gift givers, but please keep the bowl a surprise for the receiver!! The look on a face when they open the gift box is always a joy.
